GENERAL SUMMARY:

This is a salaried position in City of Industry, CA that reports to the SR. VP of Quality, Research & Development. The Director of Food Safety & Quality will develop, implement, and periodically evaluate Quality programs; ensure product conformity to customer specifications, Federal, State, and local regulatory legal requirements. Ensures that the organization’s Quality Systems from raw materials to finished products meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluates production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, functionality, and other specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborates & maintains effective working relationships with management & key stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Develops and implements standard testing and evaluation processes; ensures that all required inspections and tests are performed as per established protocol.
  • Evaluates test procedures, results and approves recommended changes.
  • Facilitates communication among cross functional departments to ensure efficient implementation of new procedures and continuing improvement initiatives.
  • Reviews quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Analyze statistical data including trend analysis, particularly failed processes; develops effective corrective actions and verification procedures.
  • Periodically reports status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies.
  • Stay abreast of current regulatory trends and changes
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
