JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for managing all video operations for Kennesaw State University’s Division I football program. Supports football staff in practice and game film analysis, while also producing engaging, high-impact visual content for internal use. Blends technical video operations with production capabilities, to support the football coaching and operations staff at with an elevated level of video support services.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Film, Communication, Journalism, or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Current, valid, and unrestricted driver’s license

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

One (1) year related experience in film, TV, or journalism video production covering various styles of video creation (digital-first, TV, social-only, long form)

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency with sports video editing software (e.g., Hudl, Catapult, XOS, Adobe Premiere Pro)
Working knowledge of NCAA rules related to video operations and recruiting content

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Prior experience supporting a Division I football program
Experience producing recruiting-focused content and managing social media assets

Able to analyze football film and understand offensive, defensive, and special teams strategies to assist in film breakdown and play tagging
Able to work effectively with coaching staff, administrators, and student-athletes
Able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of NCAA and Conference USA regulations related to video production, and technology usage
Thorough understanding of Division I football operations, including the structure and pace of practices, games, recruiting timelines, and NCAA compliance standards
Experience creating content tailored for highlight reels

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficiency in video editing software such as Hudl, Catapult, XOS Thunder, DV Sport, and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop)
Strong grasp of digital asset management, including storage, archiving, and file sharing of large volumes of video content for internal use
Technical expertise in camera operation and video production, including multi-angle setup, audio, lighting, and frame composition for both live-action and studio-style shoots
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Films, edits, and organizes all football practices, games, and strength training sessions using multi-angle camera setups
  2. Manages video breakdown and analysis of opponent and internal film for coaching strategy (offense, defense, and special teams)
  3. Coordinates the exchange of game film with other NCAA or professional teams
  4. Ensures timely delivery of practice cut-ups, scout tape, and post-game breakdowns
  5. Conceptualizes, shoots, and edits high-quality video content for in-house short form videos.
  6. Produces dynamic highlight reels and hype videos for internal use
  7. Maintains and troubleshoot video equipment, media servers, cameras, and editing software.
  8. Serves as a liaison to vendors and manage upgrades or purchases of new football video equipment
  9. Manages DVSport Coach and Player Tablets equipment by managing maintenance of equipment, coordinating needs with DVSport, setting up equipment for games and other needed events, troubleshooting on gamedays, and training staff and players on the equipment
  10. Organizes and archives video assets according to KSU standards
  11. Coordinates with Athletics Communications, Marketing, and Creative Services to align all content with KSU and Conference USA branding guidelines
  12. Supervises and mentors football student video staff
  13. Ensures all content and operations comply with NCAA and institutional rules.
  14. Supports presentations with video content
  15. Stays informed on trends in sports video production
  16. Assists in developing a year-round video operations calendar for football program games and practice periods as well as maintenance and repair plans
  17. Manages football video operations budget
  18. Coordinates utilization of any special equipment or project
