Position: Director, Global Supply Management – India Reports to: Vice President Global Supply Chain Location: Ahmedabad, India Travel: 20%-40% Summary: The Director of Global Supply Management is a key strategic partner to the India and Leadership Teams and all respective functional teams. This individual must have the right mindset to enable collaboration, achieve breakthrough performance, and ensure that all work is linked to the business goals and objectives, such as premier customer service, growth, cost reduction, cash flow improvements and return on capital. The role will lead a supply chain team that will strategically manage ~$150M of spend. Major Responsibilities: Provide local leadership to the global Supply Chain functions. This includes Strategic Sourcing, New Product Development Sourcing , Tactical Buyers, Supplier Development, Process Excellence, and SIOP teams that focuses on value to internal and external customers by formally managing the supplier relationships. Team members will have matrixed reporting structure to the Director of Supply Chain – India, and the Global Functional Leaders. Lead by example and develop team of professionals; provide professional development opportunities and engage in coaching and mentoring relationships to instill deep knowledge and capabilities in Supply Chain . Foster teamwork, open communication, and collaboration across department Accountable to ensure sourcing strategies are created and executed in alignment with the global business goals. Identify, develop, and launch new suppliers to support both local and global demand requirements. Support multiple value streams and regions, as needed. Create a service performance culture that is agile and flexible. Key performance indicators (but not limited to): Material Productivity, Cash Flow, Supplier Quality and Delivery, Sustainability, New Product Development, and Innovation. Direct and lead initiatives to improve demand management, policy guidance, and pricing activities supporting our Milacron Operating Model. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities related to the procurement function. Report out monthly against metrics with action plans for continuous improvements. Establish strong and effective relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and productivity targets are met. Partner with suppliers on innovations to drive value for the business and ensure that we are not disrupted in the marketplace Partner with business New Product Development and Business Innovation teams to support supplier selection, development, and launch Leverage big data and data science to discover patterns and solve strategic & tactical business problems using structured and unstructured data sets across multiple environments Leverage analytic tools to identify new opportunities and better outcomes for the both the business and customer | help define new “ways of working” Build and develop agile, high performing, scalable team in India. Provide coaching, development, training, and career planning to team. Coordinate with GSM leaders to define and implement corporate policies and initiatives such as but not limited to supplier diversity, supplier risk, data management, etc. Localization of import vendors to drive efficiency. Lead, project manage, and support initiatives associated with the GSM roadmaps and strategy. Provide support and leadership to ensure global sourcing synergy projects (as applicable) are identified and executed Ensure that product costing and sourcing decisions are based upon the total cost of sourced items (Total Cost of Ownership - TCO) for example: freight, duties, currency exchange, non-value added activities, and consideration for localized or imported sourcing Maintain broad knowledge of worldwide market trends on relevant commodities. Work closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, Logistics, etc) across the company to drive success. Effectively engage as an executive member of the global supply chain and Milacron India leadership teams. Knowledge and Skills: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree is preferred. Minimum 15+ years’ experience in Supply Chain and TCO and overall minimum 25 years’ experience Strong sourcing, supply chain management, procurement, and negotiation skills necessary. Manufacturing process knowledge and project management preferred. Demonstrated success in Working Capital (inventory, terms) and Leadtime initiatives, as well as inventory management. International experience desirable. Lean manufacturing experience preferred. Effective leadership and facilitation demonstrated; experience leading managing teams in India (and across Asia) Makes and meets commitments. Travel: 20%-40% (domestic & international)
