Description
Welcome to Haleon. We’re a purpose-driven, world-class consumer company putting everyday health in the hands of millions. In just three years since our launch, we’ve grown, evolved and are now entering an exciting new chapter – one filled with bold ambitions and enormous opportunity. Our trusted portfolio of brands – including Sensodyne®, Panadol®, Advil®, Voltaren®, Theraflu®, Otrivin®, and Centrum® – lead in resilient and growing categories. What sets us apart is our unique blend of deep human understanding and trusted science. Now it’s time to fully realise the full potential of our business and our people. We do this through our Win as One strategy. It puts our purpose – to deliver better everyday health with humanity – at the heart of everything we do. It unites us, inspires us, and challenges us to be better every day, driven by our agile, performance-focused culture. About the role The Director of HCM DevOps sits within the Corporate Functions D&T organisation and owns the DevOps operating model across HCM platforms (e.g., Workday, and adjacent services), acting as the single point of accountability for run, release, and operational risk. The Director partners closely with Product, Architecture, Security, and external operations partners to ensure the HCM ecosystem supports transformation without disruption to the business. The role reports to the Head of HR Systems & Products. This role is critical in environments where regulatory compliance, payroll accuracy, security controls, and data integrity are non-negotiable, and where biannual/quarterly platform releases are a structural reality rather than an exception. Role Responsibilities Own and continuously evolve the HCM DevOps operating model, clearly defining accountabilities across internal teams and external operations partners Ensure platform stability, availability, and performance across all HCM products, including proactive monitoring and preventative controls Govern release, change, and deployment management, ensuring predictable delivery of quarterly and ad hoc changes Act as the senior authority for incident, problem, and service management, driving root cause resolution rather than repeat fixes Ensure compliance-by-design across operations, including SOX, audit readiness, access governance, and data protection controls Partner with Product and Architecture to balance speed of change with risk, resilience, and compliance Provide leadership ready reporting on operational health, risk exposure, release readiness, and platform resilience Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture guardrails, data principles and regulatory expectations (e.g., SOX where applicable). Maintain architectural artefacts in enterprise repositories (e.g., capability maps, solution views, spider diagrams, integration diagrams). Collaborate with HR Product Owners, Business Partners, Enterprise Architecture, Data, Security, and external vendors. Translate complex architectural topics into clear, business relevant narratives for senior stakeholders (e.g., CHRO-level discussions). Influence delivery partners to build simpler, more sustainable solutions, not just technically correct ones. Why you? Basic Qualifications: Senior leader with over 15 years of experience owning DevOps or platform operations in largescale, regulated enterprise environments Experience working with multiple HCM suite of products (Workday and others) Proven accountability for release management, incident management, and operational controls in HR or payroll adjacent systems Strong understanding of operational risk, compliance, and audit expectations in people systems Experience leading hybrid models involving internal teams and external operations partners Preferred Qualifications: Ability to clearly articulate operational risk and trade-offs to senior HR and business leaders Strong people leadership and partner management capability Calm, structured decision-making in high impact situations Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on simplification and resilience Job Posting End Date 2026-05-23 Equal Opportunities Haleon are committed to mobilising our purpose in a way that represents the diverse consumers and communities who rely on our brands every day.
