NIE invites suitable candidates for the position of Director, Human Resource in the Human Resource Department.
The role as Director, Human Resource is to ensure that all HR policies, processes & practices support the Institute’s goal of attracting, developing and retaining the right talents to achieve its mission of inspiring learning, transforming teaching and advancing research. You will lead the HR functions, partner with senior management to drive strategic HR initiatives, provide strategic HR inputs & advice on key HR issues and lead and develop a high-performing HR team.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage and supervise the full spectrum of the Human Resource Management functions for all NIE staff. This includes staffing & recruitment, performance & reward management, staff benefits & awards, staff induction, staff exit and communication & engagement.
  • Provide support to Director, NIE on leadership succession planning, appointment & development.
  • Participate in NTU’s reviews of staff policies, schemes and systems through working groups & discussion sessions. Liaise with NTU on changes in NTU’s policies, schemes and processes, and adopt/adapt them for NIE’s use. Oversee the implementation and administration of staff policies, schemes and systems in NIE.
  • Provide support to NIE Senior Leadership on manpower planning & deployment, organisational changes, crisis management, talent management, employee engagement & communication, and see through the execution of functions under HR. Oversee the organisation of dialogues and communication sessions for different employee groups.
  • Manage employee relations issues including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance processes, to ensure a fair and respectful workplace.

Requirements:

  • A University degree, preferably with a professional HR qualification or in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant HR experience in a senior managerial position within a large organization.
  • At least 8 years of experience in an institution of higher learning is preferred.
  • Experience in other corporate functions in a leadership capacity is advantageous.
  • Excellent planning, organizing and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • High integrity with a strong commitment to responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain a big-picture perspective while focusing on details.
  • Service-oriented team player with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, decisive, and capable for managing multiple tasks and driving change effectively.
