OPPORTUNITY Westmount is currently hiring for a Director - Human Resources in our Dallas, TX Office. The Director - Human Resources will report to the President/COO for the firm and will function as a key player for the company. This position is in office Monday - Friday. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES The HR Director leads a 2 person team and is responsible for overseeing and actively participating in all human resource functions, including employee relations, performance management, payroll, benefits, compliance, talent acquisition and organizational development. This role also manages office operations to ensure an efficient and high-performing workplace. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate core competencies in the following areas: Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies that support Westmount Realty Capital's business goals and promote a high-performance culture. Talent Acquisition & Retention: Recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent within the commercial real estate industry. Employee Relations & Counseling: Foster a positive work environment by managing team development, employee relations, counseling, coaching, and conflict resolution to ensure consistent application of company policies. Performance Management: Lead the performance review process, including goal setting, feedback, and employee development initiatives. Serve as a member of the annual executive review committee, partnering with senior leadership to administer the annual bonus, cost of living (COL) adjustments, and overall bonus programs to ensure fair and competitive compensation practices. Organizational Development: Facilitate quarterly leadership strategy meetings, including agenda development, presentation preparation, meeting facilitation, documentation of key outcomes, and follow through to ensure team accountability. Payroll & Reporting (Currently Paylocity): Administer payroll and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. Day-to-Day HR Administration: Manage daily HR operations, including onboarding, verification of employment, terminations, exit interviews, promotions, transfers, and engagement surveys to enhance employee experiences and organizational effectiveness. Compensation & Benefits: Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain talent while ensuring internal equity and compliance. Open Enrollment Administration: Lead open enrollment administration, ensuring effective company wide communication and seamless execution of benefit changes. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. HR Metrics & Reporting: Develop and maintain HR metrics to analyze trends, identify opportunities, and inform strategic decisions. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS The right candidate is polished and highly detail-oriented. They bring a “how can I help” mentality and demonstrate sound judgement across all responsibilities. They’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and contributing meaningfully to both executive and team success. This person thrives in a small team environment where innovation and adaptability are key. Experience within a small organization (100 employees or fewer), ideally privately owned, is strongly preferred, along with a proven ability to partner with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree required. 5+ years of previous Human Resources experience required. Must have prior payroll experience. SPHR/ PHR certified preferred. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced analytical skills. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. REASONING ABILITY Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to comprehend legal language necessary for company compliance. Ability to solve problems involving several opinions in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. GENERAL Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
