JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Sr. Director Access Technologies is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of access tools and technologies within HCA Healthcare. This role ensures the secure and efficient operation of identity services and identity foundations, supporting critical systems and sensitive patient data. The Access Technologies department is responsible for a wide range of identity and access management functions, including directory services, authentication mechanisms, and software development to enhance user access and security.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Seven or more years of experience in a leadership role
  • Three or more years in Identity and Access Managemen
Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage two specialized teams: Identity Services and Identity Foundations. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the teams.
  • Identity Services: Oversee the support and enhancement of Entra ID and PingFederate SSO capabilities, Self-Service Password Reset, Identity Verification, Access Review Tool, and .NET software development (full stack). Ensure the development of front-end UI directory management tools and automations interfacing with Entra ID.
  • Identity Foundations: Manage the AD environment, PKI and certificate life cycle management tools, Group Policy, AD DNS, MIM, Entra ID directory management, and AD backup and recovery processes. Ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of these foundational identity services.
  • Access Tools and Technology: Evaluate, implement, and optimize access tools and technologies to improve efficiency and security, including single sign-on (SSO), multifactor authentication (MFA), and directory services. Collaborate with IT teams to integrate IAM solutions with healthcare applications, ensuring seamless user experiences.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and communicate the organization’s access technologies strategy, aligning with business objectives and technology goals. Drive the execution of strategic initiatives to enhance identity and access management capabilities.
  • Risk and Incident Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with access and identity vulnerabilities. Coordinate with the Information Protection Systems (IPS) team to lead incident response efforts related to access breaches or identity-based security incidents, following their directives and remediation activities.
  • Lead, organize, manage and develop a team of managers, developers. analysts and subject matter experts
  • Manage, develop, implement and assess processes that support Clinical Operations
  • Strong knowledge of IAM technologies, frameworks, and standards (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
  • Communicate with Leadership and participate in resolving conflicts involving strategic roadmaps, vendors, stakeholders and business partners
  • Manage project budgets, review resource cost and expenses for project Monthly Operating Reviews
  • Drive and influence Business Case development and contract negotiation
  • Provide Leadership and continuous improvement of Personal Leadership Development and succession planning.
  • Experience with healthcare-specific regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST).
  • Instilling a high-performance culture in the team with a focus on team work, service excellence and ownership for resolving issues
  • Measures organization against controls and metrics, holding them accountable for goals Supports ITG and HCA strategies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
