Job Details Job Location: Sun Hydraulics 701 - Sarasota, FL 34243 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree (Bachelors) Travel Percentage: Up to 15% Job Shift: Day Job Category: Information Technology The Director of IT will lead technology operations for a multi-site manufacturing organization, ensuring reliable systems, secure infrastructure, and effective business solutions. This role requires strong leadership, technical acumen, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable IT strategies. Key Responsibilities: Oversee IT operations across U.S, Europe and Asia motion-control facilities. Lead and mentor a team of 20 SMEs covering helpdesk, servers, ERP, and development. Manage ERP environments (Epicor Manage 2000, Infor Syteline, Aptean Made2Manage, Microsoft Navision) and custom business applications. Partner with business leaders to interpret operational needs and communicate requirements to developers and IT teams. Ensure systems are secure, compliant, and aligned with manufacturing best practices (MES, OT connectivity). Drive vendor management, budgeting, and technology roadmap planning. Champion effective communication between shop floor, IT, and engineering teams. Oversee disaster recovery, cybersecurity posture, and risk management. Drive secure software practices Coordinate with audit partners to remediate control deficiencies and select/implement enterprise access governance solutions. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field. 10+ years in IT leadership roles, with experience in manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, Office 365). Familiarity with ERP systems: Epicor Manage 2000, Infor Syteline, Aptean Made2Manage, Microsoft Navision. Ability to simplify complex systems and explain functionality to non-technical stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to build trust and collaboration across diverse teams. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and compliance frameworks (ISO/NIST/CIS) preferred. Must understand system architecture and integration concepts. Preferred Skills Azure: ADF, Azure AD, Power BI, SQL Server; naming conventions & workspace governance. Identity & access governance (MFA/Duo, SSO, SPNs; UAR/SOD process design). Backup/DR tooling (Rubrik, Assured Data Protection) across multi-cluster setups. OT/MES/SCADA familiarity; shop-floor communications that simplify technical concepts for operators/engineers. Vendor and partner management; audit remediation and compliance program execution. Strong change management and documentation discipline (written scopes/deliverables before kickoff).
