GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Chief Digital Officer, the Director of Information Technology is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of the museum’s technology infrastructure. This position leads the IT team, which includes systems engineers, help desk personnel, and any additional roles as determined by organizational needs. The Director ensures the reliability and security of both cloud-based and on-premises systems, evaluates and modernizes existing platforms, and develops strategic initiatives to support institutional goals. Responsibilities include supervising internal staff, managing external consultants, overseeing budgeting and resource allocation, and coordinating closely with stakeholders across the museum to align technology solutions with operational and strategic priorities. This role plays a key part in developing and implementing a long-term strategic IT plan in collaboration with the Chief Digital Officer.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in information systems management or related field. Ten (10) years of related job experience in the information technology sector, including five (5) years of executive leadership and people management, and ability to understand new technology and its potential application. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
