The Director, Learning & Development – North America for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is part of the newly formed Commercial Excellence organization and will lead the transformation and expansion of the Learning & Development (L&D) function across both Sales and Service within the North America Commercial (NACO) business. This role is responsible for defining the vision, structure, and roadmap of a high-performing commercial learning organization, ensuring alignment to field performance, business outcomes, and long-term talent development.

THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 12+ years of experience, including 4+ years leading people
  • Minimum 5 years in commercial training, sales enablement, or sales operations, with a strong preference for diagnostics or healthcare industry experience
  • Demonstrated success developing and leading strategic L&D programs that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to align cross-functional teams
  • Advanced skills in training evaluation, instructional design, and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel
  • Experience in coaching and developing high-performing teams through change and complexity

IT WOULD BE A PLUS IF YOU ALSO POSSESS PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN:

  • Sales experience in the diagnostics industry or strong understanding of sales process
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with partners and lead peers or direct reports
  • Demonstrated ability to structure and conduct analyses to generate insight and recommendations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, details oriented with focus on quality and accuracy
  • Proven track record of working effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Experience managing projects and vendors
Responsibilities
  • Designing the vision, structure, and operating model of a unified L&D function that supports both Sales and Service
  • Building and leading a team responsible for developing and executing role-based training, field coaching, and enablement programs
  • Establishing a long-term L&D strategy that aligns to commercial objectives, talent development priorities, and business performance
  • Implementing performance metrics and feedback loops to evaluate L&D program effectiveness and guide continuous improvement
  • Driving cross-functional alignment and partnership across Sales, Service, Marketing, and Commercial Operations to ensure strategic integration of learning initiatives
  • Managing team development, performance, and accountability while fostering a culture of professionalism and ownership
  • Overseeing budget, vendor relationships, and resourcing strategy to support scalable and impactful learning delivery
