Mō te Tūranga | About the Role The Corporate Finance team is the key structured transactions area of the Bank, originating and executing a range of market leading financial solutions utilised in large scale, complex transactions across a wide range of sectors. Due to an internal movement, we have an exceptional opportunity in Auckland for a Director, Leveraged & Acquisition Finance (within the Corporate Finance Team) to work as part of a high achieving team, focusing on leading and driving all aspects of transactions (i.e. identification, origination, evaluation, development, structuring, negotiating and execution). This role is fast paced, with a strong client focus. You will be responsible for identifying and structuring robust and complex credits and coaching and developing a team to deliver them, as well as helping the Bank achieve its financial and strategic goals. What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this role will complete? This is an opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated banking professional to use their origination and loan structuring skills. Work as part of a high achieving team focused on all end-to-end aspects of transactions including origination and structuring, writing of credit submissions, business and industry risk assessment, reviewing financial modelling and due diligence reports, documentation and executing transactions in a timely and accurate manner. Mentoring and development of junior CF team members, and responsibility for assisting with training of bankers within Corporate & Institutional Banking to enable better identification and development of opportunities. Leading loan and security documentation negotiations including facility agreements, intercreditor arrangements, term sheets, negotiating terms with clients and their advisors, documenting facilities in conjunction with internal and external legal counsel. Analysis & Problem Solving - Sources and uses relevant information effectively to identify problems and offer sustainable solutions. Structuring transactions and providing solutions, strong ability to articulate how a product or service meets customers’ needs. Knows where to draw on additional resources to provide appropriate support and advice for customers. Communicating with influence - presents information in a clear and structured manner, both verbally and in writing to influence the audience, and communicates issues clearly and credibly with different audiences. We are looking for someone who is an experienced and highly regarded banking professional, with extensive acquisition finance experience. Ideally you will have a deep understanding of the market and a strong professional network in the M&A, leveraged finance, private credit and private equity markets. You will be an excellent communicator (interpersonal and presentation skills), with strong analytical and financial modelling skills, and a background in understanding loan structuring, due diligence, risk assessment, cash flow analysis & modelling and transaction documentation.
