Reporting to the VP, Enterprise Capital, the Director, Major Projects will be responsible for strategic leadership in major projects, emphasizing risk management, effective governance, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for execution of major capital projects at Nutrien with a Total Installed Cost (TIC) greater than $100 million, focusing on projects with significant risk or strategic importance to Nutrien.
  • Establish project teams with clearly defined governance, role accountabilities and task responsibilities.
  • Ensure effective and regular communication between all major projects and the ELT to ensure timely decision making and clear understanding of risk.
  • Lead and manage the established project teams responsible for major projects, ensuring effective leadership and project success.
  • Manage materialized risks through engagement of appropriate support from Public Relations, Investor Relations, Legal Counsel and the ELT to minimize further exposure of the organization.
  • Develop and implement project delivery models, including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), and Design-Build approaches.
  • Formulate and execute contracting strategies that support project objectives and optimize risk management.
  • Design and oversee procurement strategies to ensure efficient resource procurement and cost management.
  • Manage project reporting and governance, ensuring transparency, compliance, and alignment with organizational policies.
  • Establish and maintain effective government relations to facilitate project approvals and compliance with regulatory requirements.
