Lyten Sweden seeks dedicated Director for Material and Electrode Development. In this role you will lead the Material and Electrode Development organization, set clear strategy, vision, and direction in alignment with company goals and policies. Responsible for driving innovation and execution excellence, making key decisions that support long-term business success, and leading a high-performing team of talented professionals within material and electrode development. This role works closely with senior leadership to ensure the Material and Electrode Development roadmap is fully aligned with business objectives, enabling the advancement of next-generation technologies. Key Responsibilities Overall areas of responsibilities and activities Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to) Develop and execute a roadmap for Material & Electrode Development, aligning with company objectives for product performance, sustainability, and cost-efficiency. Organize the team and set up the strategy along with the company strategy Oversee and drive the development of Material & Electrode area Lead and prioritize projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery within budget and according to regulatory standards. Mentor and grow a team of experts in material and electrode development. And to foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance culture. Act as a key spokesperson for the Material & Electrode function Stay informed on emerging trends, competing technologies, and regulatory changes in the battery and energy storage industries. Electrode / Material development to keep on track for all projects with cell development team Secure intellectual property Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements from customers Requirements Educational background and previous experience required for the role PhD or MSc in chemical engineering/Electrochemistry/chemistry/material science and engineering • 10+ years of practical experience in Li-ion battery cell development • Extensive experience in cell design and electrode & material development of Li-ion cells • Extensive experience on mass production scale of material/process development • Experience in Li-ion battery manufacturing and mass production • Experience working with multicultural environments and customers • Strong background in technical culture and proven engineering excellence, management skill • Overall understanding of IP and experience FTO and filing, and granting IPs Qualifications and Experience Excellent English written and oral skills. • Excellent communication skills • Strong managing skills to lead the team and area • Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management. • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently. • Ability to work in a high-profile and often high-pressured international environment (start-up). • Passionate & purpose-driven. • Problem-solving skills with appropriate tools Why Work at Lyten At Lyten, you’ll be part of a team that’s redefining what’s possible in energy, materials, and manufacturing.
