About the role Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services, the Director Ministerial, Board and Executive Services (MBES) is an important cross-organisational role at NESA. The Director is responsible for high-quality, timely and meaningful communication between the Parliament, our Minister, Board and Executive. The Director will lead the MBES team in embedding a culture of process and service excellence across all functions. On a day-to-day basis the role is responsible for: overseeing ministerial briefings, parliamentary business and correspondence, ensuring quality and timeliness. providing expert governance advice and support to the NESA Board and its Committees. providing a lead for executive services across NESA. driving process improvements and technology solutions. monitoring emerging policy issues and providing strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team. building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the NSW government and the education sectors. About you Our ideal candidate is a highly skilled people leader who will guide the MBES team in advancing their journey of purpose, strengthening their customer service approach, and enhancing their value to NESA. They will play a pivotal role in supporting and enabling governance strategies and processes, ensuring that the team’s contributions are aligned with organisational priorities and deliver meaningful impact. To be successful in the role, you will need: A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline. Demonstrated experience leading coordination between an agency and Ministerial Office and supporting a Board or high-level governance body. Demonstrated experience rapidly understanding complex legislation and policies to apply them to business operations. Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues.
