REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • 10 or more years’ experience in accounting and finance, including experience in a leadership role as a manager of people.
  • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis;
  • Exemplary history of financial project management;
  • Knowledge of IFRS15 and IFRS16 standards
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills;
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and ensure accuracy.
  • Advanced Excel skills, ability to create Pivot Tables and V-lookups for analysis and complex formulas
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Extensive experience working with a fully integrated ERP system;
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team;

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Brief periods of walking, standing, bending, carrying papers and extended periods requiring the use of computers.
  • Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site.
  • Up to 25% travel
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The Director of Accounting oversees the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls, while also leading and developing the accounting team.

ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support internal and external audit requests by providing account analyses and support for selections;
  • Provide support in the areas of sales tax and corporate income tax
  • Partner with other leaders within the Backoffice team, Sales, and Manufacturing to meet company goals
  • Preparing financial reports and verifying their accuracy;
  • Analyzing financial data as part of the company’s broader decision-making process;
  • Work across multiple time zones and ability to prioritize tasks
  • All other duties, as needed or required;
