Director of Admissions Job Summary: The Director of Admissions is an individual passionate about admissions and who is committed to the training and personal enrichment of each Admissions Representative. The right candidate will be an experienced sales manager with documented success in team building, goal achievement, and strong communication skills. Special consideration will be given to those with related admissions experience. The Director of Admissions will assist in related budgeting and support activities key to that team’s performance and is responsible for achieving new students and start rate targets for their team. The incumbent may be asked to provide input by special request but does not serve directly on the Executive Leadership Team. Key Job Elements: Manage a team of Admissions Representatives and promote a positive team environment. Adhere strictly to accrediting agency and U.S. Department of Education guidelines for proprietary school admissions. Follow all policies and procedures outlined in all Admissions manuals and established by the campus and/or company. Ensure that best practices are implemented and that policies and procedures are followed. Achieve the new student targets for their assigned team. Assist Senior Director of Admissions in establishing and forecasting plans and class outcomes. Manage scheduled weekly admissions meetings, daily briefs, and timely completion of required evaluations of all assigned staff. Assist in hiring of admissions staff, maintaining staffing targets, oversee and assist in the training, development, motivation, and ongoing management of such staff including yearly reviews; new hire and veteran training; ongoing observations; turnover prevention via training and support provided. Oversee the student enrollment process for the respective admissions team. Ensures compliance with all school standards, ethical standards, and compliance with all federal, state and accreditation requirements. Creates vision within the team that aligns with the organizational goals and mission statement. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field required, with a Masters degree preferred. Seven years of increasingly responsible experience managing a sales effort, particularly admissions recruitment or intangible products. Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty and student populations. Superior organizational and problem resolution skills. Strong expertise with MS Office as well as field related hardware and software packages and systems for reporting features. Abilities: Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments. Ability to assess and implement effective behavior and performance management strategies. Ability to listen to customers (e.g. staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests. Ability to create and foster an environment of professional wellness. Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
