POSITION SUMMARY

Washington University seeks an advancement professional for the position of Director of Advancement Programs for Parent and Student Initiatives. University Advancement strives to advance the mission of the school by creating a culture of philanthropy among alumni, families, students, faculty, and friends.
In this position, the Director of Advancement Programs will help foster deep connections for parents with Washington University through meaningful volunteer leadership and programming. The Director of Advancement Programs will report to the Executive Director of Advancement for Parent and Student Initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Unit goal and oversight of prospect pool:
  • Develop parent philanthropy goals annually.
  • Actively engage with gift officers on parent philanthropy and provide guidance on parent engagement and outreach.
  • Track progress and drive accountability for parent pool visits.
  • Help facilitate strategic engagement.
  • Conceptualize, strategize, and oversee programs and events for Parents Council. Coordinate planning, scheduling, communicating, and executing programs as assigned. Serve as a partner to Special Events, other staff with Parents Council responsibilities, and other related departments.
  • Strategize and support gift officers, either through direct one-on-one interactions or in group discussions, around best practices in preparing for prospect visits with a focus on driving philanthropic support.
  • Support giving day programs directed towards parents and provide guidance to University Advancement colleagues.
  • Manage member engagement and oversee development of biographies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
