About the job

Discover International has been retained on the search for a Director of AI.

Our client is shifting healthcare from human-first to AI-first through its AI Care platform, making world-class healthcare available anytime, anywhere, while significantly reducing costs for payers, self-insured employers, national health systems, and other healthcare organizations. They began by reinventing pain care with AI at its core, and has since expanded into women's health, movement health, and more recently mental health. Since 2020, more than 700,000 members across three continents have completed 10 million AI sessions, helping their enterprise clients avoid over $1 billion in unnecessary healthcare costs.

The Role

A hands-on leadership position responsible for building, deploying, and scaling AI solutions across a global HealthTech organisation. This role sits at the intersection of technology, operations, and commercial impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery – Own the AI implementation roadmap; prioritise high-impact use cases, show early results within 90 days, and scale what works while cutting what doesnt.
  • Manufacturing – Roll out AI on the factory floor: predictive maintenance, quality inspection, production optimisation, supply chain forecasting, and energy efficiency
  • Business Functions – Deploy AI across sales, engineering, procurement, finance, and service; use cases include lead scoring, document automation, risk prediction, and reporting.
  • Technology – Own the full AI stack, including data pipelines and integration with ERP, MES, and CRM systems. Make pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Team Leadership – Lead distributed AI teams across multiple sites; provide coaching, set clear priorities, and maintain consistent standards.
  • Adoption – Build internal capability through training, AI champions, and on-site engagement to drive real behavioural change.

What's Required

  • Hands-on AI/ML skills across machine learning, computer vision, NLP, and forecasting
  • Experience with manufacturing environments and systems such as SAP, MES, and CRM platforms.
  • Proven track record delivering AI in operational settings.
  • Ability to lead through influence across shopfloor, business, and executive levels
  • Resilient, pragmatic, and results-driven mindset
  • Fluent English; German is a plus
