Job Details Job Location: Hospice Savannah Inc. - SAVANNAH, GA 31406 SUMMARY: The Director of Allied Therapies provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all Allied Therapy programs at Hospice Savannah, including Volunteer Services, Storykeeping, Massage Therapy, Music Therapy, and Virtual Reality. This role ensures the integration of these services into the overall care model, supporting patient and family well-being, and upholding Hospice Savannah’s mission, values, and regulatory standards. The Director collaborates across departments, manages multidisciplinary teams, and champions innovative, patient-centered approaches to supportive care. Stewardship – What I do today ensures tomorrow. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required. Management experience required, with hospice experience preferred. Prior experience in hospice or home health strongly preferred. Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and hospice-specific regulations preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. Excellent communication, leadership, customer service, and critical-thinking skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires moderate to intense visual concentration, including reading, computer use, and documentation, as well as occasional travel between facilities. The role involves participation in patient and family interactions and providing support to staff in a variety of care and administrative settings. Daily interaction with patients, families, physicians, medical facilities, vendors, and internal staff requires effective communication, problem-solving skills, and a consistently professional demeanor. The position carries potential exposure to infectious diseases and requires adherence to standard safety and infection control precautions. The role requires sufficient mobility and physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds using proper body mechanics. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position typically works a 40-hour workweek, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as operational needs require. The role may involve regular commuting between Hospice Savannah facilities and community partners using a personal vehicle. The work environment includes frequent exposure to emotionally sensitive and stressful situations involving patients and families related to end-of-life care. Accurate and timely documentation using a computer is required. The Director of Allied Therapies may occasionally assist in the provision of care and may be required to work in environments designated by local authorities as high-risk or potentially unsafe, requiring situational awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
