Description SUMMARY: The Director reports to the Executive Director with the primary purpose to lead and engage their team, ensuring exceptional client experiences and driving team success. The role focuses on fostering strong client relationships, supporting sales efforts to generate revenue, and promoting innovation to maintain market relevance. The Director will prioritize ongoing professional development to remain an expert in their field, ensuring the center stays at the forefront of industry trends and maintains its position as a recognized leader, contributing to the growth and success of the organization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Leadership & Strategy: Foster Collaboration and Team Development – Build and lead a diverse, high-performing team by encouraging open communication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellence. Lead, manage, and hold the Center teams accountable for agency standards, culture, and performance expectations. Coach, Evaluate, and Support Growth – Conduct and support ongoing coaching and evaluation through structured one-on-one conversations and the agency’s evaluation process, ensuring each team member receives meaningful feedback and professional development. Contribute to Agency Leadership – Actively engage in strategic planning and leadership collaboration. Define & Execute Team Strategy – Establish and drive mission-aligned goals and priorities. Align Center & Agency Plans – Develop and track progress of center goals within agency-wide strategy. Communicate Transparently – Provide timely, structured updates on agency and center initiatives. Clarify Roles and Responsibilities – Define clear roles, expectations, and responsibilities for each team member, delegating work effectively to maximize strengths and efficiency. Ensure Resources and Support – Provide access to the right materials, equipment, and resources necessary for team members to do their best work and deliver high-quality services. Set and Monitor Meaningful Goals – Establish annual individual expected outcomes for team members, tracking progress through ongoing check-ins and support. Engage in Talent Recruitment and Retention – Partner with HR to recruit, select, assign, and evaluate personnel, ensuring a values-aligned, mission-driven team. Provide Direction and Actionable Feedback – Guide and support team members in delivering high-quality services, ensuring continuous learning, innovation, and impact. Client Experience & Innovation: Delivering High-Impact Solutions Cultivate Innovation & Solution Development – Foster a creative, problem-solving environment within the team to develop forward-thinking solutions for educators and leaders. Ensure the center portfolio is client-first, financially sustainable, and aligned with branded house positioning, while driving the adoption and integration of new solutions and practices to maintain competitiveness and growth. Ensure Excellence in Products & Services – Oversee the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of center offerings to meet the client needs. Marketing & Sales Strategy – Support the agency’s marketing & sales strategy and contribute to thought leadership. Drive Revenue Growth: Actively support and contribute to sales efforts by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, aligning products and services with client needs to achieve KPIs. Grows market share within assigned lines while serving as a thought leader by sharing expertise, insights, and best practices to enhance client trust and position the agency 6 as the provider of choice. Market Trend Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, and emerging technologies, ensuring the center remains competitive and relevant in the marketplace. Builds and strengthens system-level relationships and advocates for client needs. Product and Service Optimization: Ensure that the center’s products and services are continually optimized to meet client expectations and exceed the market standards. Evaluate the effectiveness of solutions and services through client feedback and performance data; integrates lessons learned to drive improvement; and stays current on emerging trends, research, and industry practices to maintain expertise and ensure the business line remains relevant and competitive. Financial Stewardship & Operational Excellence: Develop & Monitor Budget Performance – Collaborate with the Executive Director and Finance team to proactively manage and track the center budget. Fiscal Responsibility – Utilize agency processes for managing revenue, expenses, and financial reporting to maintain transparency and compliance. Oversee Expenditure Management – Approve and monitor expenditures in alignment with agency fiscal policies and strategic priorities. Leverage Data for Financial Planning – Use performance metrics and trend analysis to inform financial decisions, ensuring efficient resource allocation. Optimize Operational Efficiency – Identify opportunities to streamline financial and operational processes, maximizing impact and sustainability for the team product line. Drive Results through KPIs – Align outcomes with agency and center key performance indicators. Translate agency financial strategy into center-level budgets and surplus targets; review and monitor financial health of classes. Requirements POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Experience, Education and Licensure: Solid educational background including a Bachelor’s degree in education or business administration. Master’s degree in accounting, business and/or related field. Licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as School Business Administrator (WI License 5008) with a minimum of 5 years professional education leadership experience with district level administrative experience (Director of Business Services). Extensive and current knowledge of business office functions including Other Post-Employment Benefits, Payroll, Human Resources, and Marketing and Communications. Experience with Skyward’s Business Suite and/or other financial management software for schools preferred. Required Skills and Abilities: Model the agency’s core values. Experience in setting clear goals, providing feedback, and supporting professional growth. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong client relationships. WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work Environment: Ability to work in a professional and flexible office environment. Ability to work in multiple settings, including varied agency, school or work-related sites or a home office environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends, travel to multiple work sites and occasional out-of-town travel. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing. The employee is required to drive between schools and districts to provide direct service and consultation.
