Description JOB SUMMARY Solicit accounts that provide individual transient business that ensures maximization of revenue to achieve and/or exceed revenue goals at both DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomington – Minneapolis South and Sheraton Bloomington. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS · Data analysis and utilization from credible sales and property management platforms to develop list of targeted accounts. · Knowledge of both DoubleTree and Sheraton Bloomington to effectively sell both to prospective and current clients. · Manage RFPs for both DoubleTree and Sheraton Bloomington by researching and creating business cases for proposed rates reviewed and approved in conjunction with complex executive director of sales and marketing. · Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication. · Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance. · Participate in daily business review meetings, training and staff meetings as requested. · Creation of annual budget and monthly forecasts for rates and revenue. · Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings. · Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers. · Frequently spend time in lobby/restaurant at both properties during peak AM/PM hours to greet guests and uncover potential business leads, service issues, needs, etc. · Serve in a leadership capacity for both properties by actively assisting, training, and supervising team members. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the requirements of the hotel: · Professionally represent the hotel at all industry/community functions. · Participate as team player with all departments. · Assist with reports and/or competition data collection. Requirements SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities: · At least three years of hotel sales experience and management · Must be able to learn property management systems at both DoubleTree and Marriott. · Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. · Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Knowledge of hotel operations. · Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints. · Sales ability and skill in both verbal and nonverbal forms. · Ability to identify and develop accounts with individual guest room needs. · Ability to establish and master goals. · Must possess basic computational ability. · Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel AVAILABILITY This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Generally, the position works Monday through Friday with hours varied based on business demand. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed workday, to include Saturdays and Sundays, or time of work if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs to determine the amount of hours that you work.
Responsibilities
