The Director of Capital Markets is a knowledgeable and well diversified individual who oversees the Capital Markets team and all its functions. They demonstrate both direct and influence-based leadership skills fostering a team environment. The Director is responsible for a team of professionals that perform a range of tasks from pipeline management, lock desk, systems maintenance, and providing cross-departmental support across the organization. Primary Duties: • Oversee secondary operations which include but may not be limited to: o Create, compile, review daily, monthly and quarterly loan volume and hedge reports o Manage interest rate risk exposure within the predefined policy risk limits o Pipeline management of locked and held for sale, analysis, and reconciliation o Optimize and efficiently execute loan sales/commitments o Purchase advice reconciliation (i.e. purchased loans and servicing transfers) o Monitor TBA settlements, wires, and margin calls. • Responsible for maintaining all capital markets policies as well as directing the team’s creation of procedures, job aids, and training materials. • Responsible for investor relationships, new approvals, and annual recertifications. • Secondary Marketing Committee member responsible for creating and presenting quarterly secondary marketing performance and trend reports. • Manage broker/dealer relationships and line limits. • Present aggregated market intelligence to Senior Management with profit margin recommendations and executes on decisions made. • Lead team with scoping, defining, and implementing projects including but not limited to system configuration, testing and maintenance of hedging platform and product & pricing engines. • Oversee the lock desk, lock policies and related procedures. • Manage accounting and servicing operations related to loan originations: o Accounting and reconciliation of tax bills and insurance payments (escrows). o Oversee loan funding activities to ensure revenue integrity, including but not limited to following up on funding shortages, preparation of various funding checks and payables. o Monitor and reconcile loan funding and misc. general ledger entries. o MERS Administrator, complete user setup and ensure all required reporting is completed. • Understand and follow all regulatory compliance policies and procedures. • Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act. • All other duties as assigned. Education/Experience/Skills: • Minimum 7 years combined accounting G/L reconciliation and secondary marketing experience required. • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business related field. • Understanding and experience with mortgage origination processes, products, pricing, hedging, loan sales, loan delivery, best execution, and securitization. • Experience with Loan Origination and Product/Pricing Engines. Direct experience with Encompass and Optimal Blue configuration settings (preferred). • Experience with hedging systems. Direct experience with Optimal Blue Secondary Services (preferred). • Experience managing multiple business channels (preferred). • Proficient with Microsoft products with advanced ability in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools. • Ability to perform math calculations including percentages, ratios, and prorations. • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, time management. • Works well under time constraints, is well organized. • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems.
