In this new role, the Director of Cards for Embedded Banking leads the development and implementation of credit card products in integrated into non-financial platforms via API-driven, white-label, or BaaS models. They manage end-to-end card lifecycles, issuer/network relationships, and compliance to drive transaction volume, user engagement, and revenue. Responsibilities: Lead the immediate as well as long term long‑term roadmap, and market positioning for the Bank’s embedded card products, including co‑brand, affinity, and integrated partner programs. Own the P&L for embedded card programs, including revenue forecasting, expense management, pricing, interchange optimization, and rewards strategy. Originate embedded banking relationships for card use. Own relationships with card networks, BaaS providers, processors, and technology partners, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence. Negotiate agreements, including economics, incentives, SLAs, and marketing commitments, to maximize program value and ensure long‑term scalability and profitability. Lead technical architecture decisions related to card issuance, ledger operations, digital wallets, and embedded finance capabilities. Guide API integration strategies with internal engineering teams and external technology partners to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant connectivity. Evaluate and optimize performance across activation, engagement, retention, fraud losses, customer satisfaction, and operational KPIs. Drive governance routines, audits, and control enhancements in alignment with internal policies and evolving regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. 10 years of experience in product management, card issuing, embedded finance, payments, or related financial services roles. Deep expertise in card programs (credit, debit, prepaid, co‑brand, or embedded card issuance), including lifecycle management, economics, and compliance requirements. Proven track record launching and scaling card or embedded financial products in partnership with networks, processors, and BaaS platforms. Demonstrated success managing complex technical integrations, including APIs, tokenization, digital wallet enablement, and card platform infrastructure. Experience owning or heavily influencing P&L, unit economics, card interchange strategy, and performance metrics. Ability to define and articulate long‑term product direction. Excellent communication skills; able to effectively engage senior leaders, regulators, and external partners. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. The hiring range for this position is $200,000 to $250,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
