Responsibilities

As a member of the Management team, the Director of Care:

  • Oversees the daily operations of the Care department for 98 live-in frail elderly needing Complex Care
  • Coordinates and supervises RNs, LPNs, Healthcare Attendants, and Recreation staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of the elderly
  • Supervises professional and non-professional Allied Care workers
  • Manages the budget for the department, including ordering and monitoring expenses
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation related to the operations
  • Communicates regularly with residents, their families, and external stakeholders on care matters
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and licensing requirements
