Our client, a respected leader in the senior care sector, is hiring a Permanent Full-Time Director of Care (RN). This role is ideal for a nurse leader with strong clinical and administrative skills, a passion for quality care, and experience managing long-term care teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing nursing services in compliance with legislative standards and organizational policies, while fostering a positive, resident-focused environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Administrator, the Director of Care is a key member of the home’s leadership team, responsible for the overall management of clinical services. This includes staff leadership, care planning, compliance, resident and family relations, quality improvement, and health and safety initiatives.

EXPERIENCE:

  • ADOC or DOC Managerial or Supervisory experience in LTC: (Required)
  • Registered Nurse in LTC: 1 year (Required)

Responsibilities
  • Lead the nursing department to deliver safe, person-centered care
  • Ensure compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, Ministry standards, and internal protocols
  • Oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of clinical staff
  • Manage clinical programs including IPAC, falls prevention, and wound care
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and CQI initiatives
  • Collaborate with families, staff, and external health providers
  • Promote and maintain a culture of safety, accountability, and wellness
