YWCA Peterborough Haliburton serves women with and without children in a small urban, large rural region that includes the city of Peterborough and the counties of Haliburton and Peterborough. We are seeking an experienced, strategic and compassionate leader to serve as Director of Client Services. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role oversees client programs and services, ensuring they are delivered with excellence, innovation, and in alignment with the YWCA’s mission and values, and funder expectations.
In this senior leadership position, you will be at the forefront of driving our mission to support women and children, leading initiatives that align with our values of equity, empowerment, and social justice. YWCAs are a national and global movement with a shared focus on advocacy, leadership, and equity rights for women, young women, and girls.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in women’s studies, human/social services, or related field.
  • 5–7 years progressively responsible experience, including 3+ years in management.
  • Integrated knowledge of gender-based violence against women, policy and advocacy, and collective action
  • Proven leadership experience in program development, supervision, and implementing change management plans
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial management experience, including developing, monitoring, and projecting program and agency budgets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with client database management systems.
  • Commitment to integrity, confidentiality, equity, and inclusion.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
Responsibilities
  • Lead and evaluate client services, ensuring compliance with funder standards and best practices.
  • Develop annual and multi-year operational plans and budgets.
  • Supervise and mentor managers and coordinators, fostering a respectful, inclusive, and trauma-informed workplace.
  • Champion equity, diversity, inclusion, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with funders, partners, and community organizations to advance services.
  • Provide strategic advice and leadership during times of change and growth.
  • Represent the YWCA in advocacy, community, and sector initiatives.
