The University of Maine at Presque Isle Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program invites applications for a Fixed-Length Director of Clinical Education/Assistant Professor of PTA.
This fixed-length, on-campus position for July 15, 2025- July 15, 2026.
This role will include instruction in the core classes of the PTA program, which are a combination of lecture and lab classes. The Director of Clinical Education/Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education is effective in clinical teaching and mentoring and in developing, conducting, and coordinating the clinical education program. The ideal candidate will possess creative skills and experience in multiple areas of physical therapy practice, technical proficiency, and commitment to fostering the development of the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Instruction in the didactic and lab components of core PTA courses
  • Assisting program director & ACCE in admin duties as necessary
  • Advising students in the cohort
  • Maintaining compliance with CAPTE standards for accreditation

Requirements:

  • PT or PTA who holds an active, unencumbered PT license or a PTA license in any United States jurisdiction and is in compliance with the practice act in the jurisdiction where the program is located,
  • Minimum of three years of full-time, post-licensure clinical practice
  • Two years of clinical practice experience must include experience as a site coordinator of clinical education or clinical instructor in physical therapy, or the coordinator must have a minimum of two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a physical therapist assistant education program.

The salary for this interim on-campus, fixed-length, fiscal-year position for an Assistant Professor is $74,663.00 commensurate with education and experience.
