THE OPPORTUNITY As Director of Commercial Finance & FP&A for Uniworld (River Cruise Division), you will act as a strategic co-pilot to the Divisional CFO and senior leadership team, owning the financial narrative and driving value creation across the business. This role sits at the center of commercial decision-making - influencing pricing, demand, and investment choices, while shaping the financial strategy that underpins growth, profitability, and long-term value. You will combine sharp commercial instinct with analytical rigor to challenge, influence, and drive better decisions across marketing, sales, product, and operations. In a business undergoing transformation, you will also play a key role in evolving our data, reporting, and planning capabilities—building a best-in-class commercial finance function. WHAT YOU'LL DO Commercial Strategy & Value Creation Leads financial insight, performance analysis, scenario modelling, forecasting, ROI assessment and decision support of pricing, yield management, and promotional strategy across channels Partner with commercial teams to optimize revenue mix across direct and trade distribution Develop and embed customer-level profitability and lifetime value frameworks Evaluate new routes, ships, and product investments with clear ROI and payback discipline Business Partnering & Strategic Insight: Act as the financial lead for commercial decision-making, shaping and influencing strategy across marketing, sales, and product to analyze business and customer data, provide financial insights, and shape strategic and tactical plans that enhance performance Scenario planning and modelling for business needs including for example ship growth, new products, pricing strategies etc. Performance Management: Lead on trading performance analysis and reporting including revenue, margins, and overheads. Prepare weekly and monthly performance updates with insightful commentary and commercial recommendations in partnership with the business Lead on tracking commercial KPIs, measuring marketing effectiveness, and identifying opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization Own weekly trading cadence and forward-looking risk & opportunity identification Drive actions to close performance gaps—not just report them Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting and rolling reforecast process, cadence and reporting with the business and Group Provide level of challenge, analysis, and scenario planning to optimize resource allocation Prepare and analyze performance against plans and provide insightful commentary and visibility both internally at Uniworld and for Group Define and enhance set of standard reporting to effectively manage and provide visibility on business performance with senior management Move from static forecasting to driver-based, scenario-led planning Embed accountability across business owners Marketing & ROI Analysis: Assess marketing and advertising spend effectiveness, model scenarios, and recommend reallocation or new initiatives to improve return on investment Transformation & continuous improvement: Lead the evolution of commercial finance capabilities, including; Standardized, scalable reporting Improved data quality and accessibility Faster, insight-led decision-making cycles Clear ownership of KPIs across the business WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Measurable improvement in revenue yield, margin, and return on marketing investment Increased forecast accuracy and forward visibility of risks/opportunities Adoption of data-driven decision-making across commercial teams Tangible contribution to divisional value creation and growth targets Success in this role means being a true co-pilot to the business — providing insightful data to enhance visibility, enable challenge, and recommendations that directly shape growth, performance, and customer outcomes. You’ll be a trusted voice around the table, bringing commercial acumen, data fluency, and strategic thinking to Uniworld’s evolving business landscape Requirements WHAT YOU'LL BRING Technical Skillset BS / BA degree is required Exceptional financial modelling and analytical capability with keen attention to detail Essential Experience 10+ years of relevant finance experience within commercial finance and/or FP&A. Proven background in FP&A and commercial finance, ideally in fast-paced environment Experience owning commercial P&L levers (pricing, mix, cogs, marketing ROI, opex) Excellent communication with ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change in complex organizations Commercial curiosity and strategic problem-solving, able to challenge constructively and influence decision-makers High adaptability and resilience in evolving, fast-paced setting Track record of shaping business strategy and delivering measurable performance improvement Experience working across direct-to-consumer and business-to-business models Experience navigating change and transformation environments Global experience with comfort working across different markets and business models Desirable Experience MBA is highly desirable Experience in high-volume, yield-driven industries (travel, airlines, hospitality, consumer goods, e-commerce) a plus
