The Director for Community College and External Partnerships is responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives that enhance transfer recruitment, facilitate seamless transitions to Towson University, and expand dual enrollment opportunities. This role will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community colleges, school district leaders, community-based organizations, and government entities to support equitable access to higher education.
The Director of Community College and External Partnerships is a strategic leader responsible for designing and advancing high-impact enrollment initiatives that strengthen Towson University’s presence across the community college and K–12 landscape. This role will shape institutional strategies that enhance transfer pathways, increase degree completion, and expand early college access through dual enrollment. The Director will serve as a senior representative of TU in engagements with executive leaders from community colleges, school districts, state agencies, and education coalitions—aligning partnerships with institutional priorities around equity, access, and workforce development. The Director will also serve as a visible leader in the local and national landscape for external partnerships and transfer articulations, positioning TU as a model institution for strategic collaboration and student mobility.
Responsibilities and Duties
Community College Partnerships & Recruitment Strategy: Develop and lead recruitment and student success transition strategies in collaboration with community college partners to strengthen transfer student enrollment and retention. Establish and maintain articulation agreements and dual enrollment pathways to ensure seamless academic transitions.
External & Community-Based Organization Engagement: Build and sustain partnerships with community-based organizations and lead initiatives that promote college readiness and degree completion through collaboration with external partners.
Dual Enrollment & College Preparatory Work: Work with TU leadership and K-12 school district leaders to expand dual enrollment. Ensure academic alignment with TU standards and support outreach efforts aimed at educating students and families about postsecondary opportunities.
Policy & Government Relations: Advocate for local, state, and federal policies that support transfer students, dual enrollment growth, and student success. Monitor and respond to legislative developments impacting prospective and current transfer students.
