The Director of Compass Programming at Standish Village is a key member of the community’s leadership team and reports to the Executive Director. This person is responsible for creating and implementing meaningful, therapeutic programming and an innovative whole-person approach that focuses on a resident’s emotions, strengths, and remaining abilities—not on their disabilities. This person works primarily in our memory care neighborhood, working closely with our assisted living residents. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? The Director of Compass Programming at Cornerstone at Hampton is a key member of the community’s leadership team and reports to the Executive Director. This person is responsible for creating and implementing meaningful, therapeutic programming and an innovative whole-person approach that focuses on a resident’s emotions, strengths, and remaining abilities—not on their disabilities. This person works primarily in our memory care neighborhood, working closely with our assisted living residents. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manage the daily operation of the Compass Memory Support Neighborhood, in coordination with the leadership team * Manage a comprehensive therapeutic program, with the goal of enhancing social, intellectual, creative, spiritual and physical well-being of residents, in accordance with Compass goals and procedures * Lead daily programs for residents with Alzheimer's and related dementias * Supervise and train programming assistants, Resident Care Associates and volunteers * Assist with monthly newsletter, Facebook and community events * Plan scheduled outings for residents and occasionally drive the van/car * Manage the department budget * Serve as Manager on Duty, including rotating weekends WE’D LOVE TO CHAT IF YOU HAVE: * 3+ years of senior healthcare experience; Professional licensure in related healthcare field preferred * Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease, related dementias, and behavior management techniques, and a sincere desire to work with cognitively impaired residents * Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and Certified Alzheimer’s Association support group leader (if you don’t, we will offer the opportunity to get these certifications) * A valid driver’s license and history of accident-free driving WHAT WE EXPECT: * Teamwork: Promote a positive team spirit and a culture of cooperation, openness, enthusiasm, customer service, and an atmosphere conducive to growth. * Trustworthiness: Demonstrate an acute sense of responsibility and moral integrity with strong follow-through on commitments, inspiring the trust of others. * Professionalism: Provide leadership; take the initiative, handle pressure and be level-headed in emergencies, treat others with respect, excel at project management. * Communication: Interact clearly and effectively with an openness to other people's ideas and thoughts; Demonstrate patience, tact, positive energy and enthusiasm. * Technical Ability: You can’t be successful at this job if you are averse to technology! Responsibilities

This role involves creating and implementing meaningful, therapeutic programming using a whole-person approach focused on residents' strengths, primarily within the memory care neighborhood. Key duties include managing daily operations of the Memory Support Neighborhood, leading daily programs, supervising staff, managing the department budget, and serving as Manager on Duty.
