Education:

  • High School Diploma or GE

Experience:

  • 8+ years of LIHTC compliance experience preferred

Skills/Abilities:

  • Understanding of LIHTC Affordable Housing Programs (HUD / State Housing Programs) required.
  • COS designation required.
  • Knowledge of Yardi and RentCafé preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and have good time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Experience with marketing and leasing initiatives for new development preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, understanding that your scheduled workdays may vary according to staffing and property needs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and support Compliance Managers across the portfolio, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to the VP of Compliance and senior leadership.
  • Ensure alignment of compliance practices across properties and consistency in team operations.
  • Oversee and supervise audits of regulatory records to ensure adherence to LIHTC, HUD, PHA, and other affordable program requirements.
  • Ensure accurate, timely completion and submission of all internal and external reporting, including annual state agency LIHTC compliance reports.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of all affordable housing programs relevant to Roers Companies’ existing and future portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with housing finance agencies, HUD, PHAs, investors, and other regulatory entities.
  • Manage relationships with third-party compliance vendors to ensure alignment with company standards and regulatory needs.
  • Develop and implement company-wide compliance policies and procedures in accordance with evolving regulations.
  • Analyze compliance reports and trends, providing actionable insights to operations and leadership teams.
  • Oversee the accurate preparation and submission of HUD documents, including rent increases, AFHMP’s, and TSP’s.
  • Direct the design and delivery of program compliance training to ensure team competency and regulatory adherence.
  • Support property-level compliance efforts and provide guidance on certification processes, resident file management, and lease-up activities.
  • Ensure professional, respectful, and responsive communication with residents, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, in alignment with business needs and organizational goals.
