Position Overview:
The Director of Content is a key leadership role reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Communications at The University of Tulsa. This position is responsible for overseeing and developing a comprehensive content strategy that effectively engages internal and external stakeholders, enhances the university’s brand, and advances its strategic goals. The Director of Content will lead a team of content creators and strategists and collaborate with various departments across the university.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with the university’s mission and strategic priorities.
2. Content Creation: Oversee the creation of high-quality content, including written, visual, and multimedia materials, that highlights the university’s achievements, research, faculty, students, and alumni.
3. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of content creators, editors, and strategists to ensure they produce content that meets the university’s standards and objectives.
4. Content Calendar: Develop and maintain a content calendar that ensures a consistent and engaging flow of content across various platforms, including the university website, social media, and other marketing channels.
5. Collaboration: Collaborate with various university departments to gather information, stories, and data to create compelling content that showcases the university’s excellence and impact.
6. Audience Engagement: Analyze audience behavior, preferences, and feedback to continuously improve content strategies and optimize engagement.
7. Content Distribution: Oversee the distribution of content through appropriate channels and platforms to reach a wider audience and increase brand visibility.
8. Brand Consistency: Ensure that all content aligns with the university’s brand guidelines and messaging, maintaining a consistent and positive image.
9. Measurement and Reporting: Implement tools and metrics to measure the effectiveness of content initiatives, and provide regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
10. Budget Management: Manage the content budget, including resource allocation and cost-effective content production.
