The company started after three close friends from Tijuana, Mexico and Brawley, CA realized the need for truly authentic Mexican tacos on the East Coast. The company is passionate about making every guest at LOS TACOS No. 1 feel like they have been transported to Mexico when they step into our restaurants.
We’re looking for a Director of Culinary Operations to join our fast paced and growing team. The ideal candidate must be well organized, have a strong attention to detail and be eager to learn and grow with the company.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Take full responsibility of the operation from start to finish. Maintain positive team morale and ensure that the Los Tacos No.1 values are being upheld.
  • Employee recruiting, management and development: Hire, train, schedule, and manage all kitchen staff to maintain consistently high quality. Foster an environment of open communication, consistency, and teamwork - where employees take pride in their work and enjoy what they do
  • Food quality and safety: Ensure all food is consistently of high quality, well presented, and prepared utilizing HACCP guidelines and procedures. Maintain compliance with all local/state/federal food handling and sanitation standards, including logs and documentation. Ensure that all systems and processes are consistently followed. Maintain a clean, safe and orderly environment
  • Oversee the staff working at the prep spaces and kitchens at the restaurants and future commissary location to ensure consistency and exceptional quality across all of our locations. Develop processes and protocols so that recipes and techniques are carried out in accordance with the company’s standards
  • Coordinate all deliveries of prepared products from the commissary to the Manhattan stores ensuring all the proper health and safety controls during deliveries
  • Administrative and analytical support: Maintain and organize files for recipes, food cost, and nutrition information
  • Ordering and receipt of food and supplies.
