Director of Culinary Services
Chateau St. Michael’s Personal Care Home
Chateau St. Michael’s is a vibrant 93 room personal care home located in Moose Jaw,
Saskatchewan.
We are currently seeking a Director of Culinary Services to lead our team of cooks and dietary
servers and ensure we provide the highest level of service and nutritious meals to our
residents, families and guests.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Culinary Services is a key part of our
leadership team and requires a strong understanding of team management, exceptional and
creative cooking skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Create and update the menu in accordance with the Canada Food Guide
Prepare individual meals plans for residents with special health considerations
Hiring and training all kitchen staff, including training on food safety and maintaining a
safe work environment
Create and maintain the department schedule
Supervise culinary staff to ensure quality services are provided and consistent
compliance with recipes
Perform administrative tasks such as the ordering of food supplies and equipment in
accordance with company policies
Keep up to date with industry trends and standards
Create new recipes to keep the menu fresh
Evaluate, respond and implement changes based on resident feedback and needs
Support a collaborative environment within the kitchen and the entire facility
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Culinary school degree/diploma
Past experience as a working chef
Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage staff and promote a positive work
environment
Experience in all aspects of food production, food handling and visual presentation
