Job Title: Director of Cultivation
Location: Kelowna

Reports To: Vice President of Genetics and Agronomy
Position Summary: The Director of Cultivation oversees all aspects of the cannabis cultivation process, ensuring the production of high-quality, compliant, and consistent product. This role requires expertise in horticulture, operational leadership, and regulatory compliance to optimize plant health, maximize yields, and maintain efficiency throughout the cultivation facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in commercial cannabis cultivation leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale cultivation operations.
  • Strong knowledge of cannabis plant biology, nutrient systems, and pest management.
  • Experience with environmental control systems and advanced cultivation technologies.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with federal cannabis regulations and compliance standards.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with data analytics and cultivation software systems.
  • Business acumen with an understanding of cost control and budgeting.
  • Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and build high-performing teams

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all cultivation activities, including propagation, vegetation, flowering, harvesting and post-harvest processes.
  • Manage and mentor cultivation teams, including grow managers, cultivation technicians, and support staff.
  • Monitor plant health and environmental conditions, including lighting, humidity, temperature, and nutrient delivery systems.
  • Oversee integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and ensure compliance with Health Canada regulations.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure proper sourcing of cultivation supplies.
  • Maintain accurate cultivation records, including plant tracking, yield data, and compliance documentation.
  • Analyze cultivation data to improve yield, potency, and overall product quality.
  • Work closely with compliance teams to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Forecast production schedules to align with sales and distribution demands.
  • Develop and manage the cultivation budget, including labor, supplies, and capital expenditures.
