Requirements Academic Leadership Essential Expectations Overtly support and act in accordance with PCS’s mission, values, statement of faith, and Statement of Marriage and Sexuality. Advance the strategic plan’s operational-level items at the direction of the Head of School. Communicate in a way that is pleasing to God and consistent with biblical principles (Matthew 7, 18; James 3). Interact with colleagues in a mutually respectful and edifying manner that fosters a healthy team culture. Represent PCS effectively to its constituents. Uphold professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, confidentiality, and discretion. If applicable, develop and evaluate direct reports; report issues to the Head of School in a timely manner. Partner with the rest of the organizational and administrative staff to create raving fans of PCS, providing exceptional customer service. Manage the appropriate part of the budget to meet the school’s goals for hard income and expenses as laid out in the Strategic Financial Plan. Maintain professional credentials as appropriate. Partner with parents in loco parentis in the discipleship of students. Comply with the policies and procedures as articulated in Providence Classical School’s governing documents. Work effectively with the Head of School, Senior Leadership Team, committees, and colleagues. Authentically engage in self-reflection and annual personal and professional growth. This includes written goals and progress towards those goals. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Worker Characteristics, and Qualifications Grounded in orthodox Christian theology Established and constantly maturing Christian faith Faithfully attends a local church whose beliefs are in agreement with the school’s statement of faith Demonstrates a love and passion for students Embodies the core values of humility, intentionality, and honor Expertise in classical Christian philosophy, pedagogy, and content Well-read and conversant in the Great Books Bachelor’s degree; graduate degree preferred 3+ years of teaching experience in a classical school Ability to design, launch, and manage projects Ability to motivate, lead, support, and manage personnel Ability to relate to, work with, and manage students and adults Exceptional written and oral communication skills Strong networking skills to ensure access to resources in the broader community Detail-oriented and resourceful Displays high-energy and enthusiasm about working in an academic atmosphere
Responsibilities
The Director of Curriculum & Instruction will lead instructional efforts by evaluating and implementing classical educational materials to improve student outcomes.
