POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Development is responsible for leading and integrating all fundraising, marketing, and communications efforts to advance the mission of Alachua Habitat for Humanity. This role provides strategic leadership in donor stewardship, resource development, and community engagement, while also overseeing brand management, public relations, and storytelling initiatives. By aligning development and communications strategies, the Director ensures the affiliate has the financial, volunteer, and public support necessary to expand affordable housing opportunities.
The Director of Development works closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers to cultivate strong relationships with donors, media, community partners, and stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, marketing, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible fundraising and communications experience, preferably in a nonprofit or Habitat for Humanity context.
• Demonstrated success in securing major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and foundation grants.
• Strong marketing, public relations, and storytelling skills.
• Proficiency with donor management software, website CMS, email marketing platforms, and social media.
• Basic graphic design knowledge (Canva/Adobe Creative Suite) preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning abilities.
• Passion for affordable housing, community development, and Habitat for Humanity’s mission.
