Role
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the software engineering and business intelligence departments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute the technology and BI roadmap aligned with business objectives. Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, data engineers and BI analysts, ensuring a high level of performance and fostering a culture of innovation. Oversee the full software development lifecycle and BI processes, from ideation to deployment and reporting. Drive best practices in software development, code reviews, quality assurance, and BI analytics. Lead recruitment efforts to attract top engineering and BI talent and contribute to the growth of the teams. Collaborate with product management to align engineering and BI efforts with product roadmaps. Ensure adherence to coding standards, software design principles, and BI best practices. Develop and implement BI strategies to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data, and create data visualizations and reports. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather BI requirements and deliver insights that drive business decisions. Monitor and optimize BI system performance, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in both software engineering and BI to drive continuous improvement

QualificationsKnowledge and Skills

EXPERIENCE

Proven experience (5+ years) in software engineering and BI, with a focus on leadership roles.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

A college degree. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.

OTHER SKILLS

Strong technical background and hands-on experience in software development and BI analytics. Experience managing and growing high-performing engineering and BI teams. Demonstrated success in delivering complex software projects and BI solutions on time and within budget. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Deep understanding of software development methodologies, BI tools, and best practices. Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

MENTAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Pay: $135,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
