Description Park Place of Elmhurst, a nonprofit five-star senior living community, is located across from Endeavor Health Elmhurst Hospital. Our 16-acre arboretum-designated campus offers 180+ customizable 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom independent living apartments and a full continuum of care, including assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and memory support. We are seeking a Full-time Director of Dining Services to join our leadership team. We are owned and operated by Providence Life Services and offer a full benefits package which includes Medical, Dental, Life and AD&D, Vision, PTO, Extended Illness Bank (EIB), Retirement Match Program, and Tuition Reimbursement for those who have a school loan. The Director of Dining Services primary purpose is to be responsible for the planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Dining Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator/Executive Director, to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and that the Dining Department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner. Responsibilities: Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating, and directing the Dining Department, its programs and activities. Coordinate dining services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, etc.). Assist in developing and maintaining written dietary policies and procedures. Assist in developing and maintaining written job descriptions and performance evaluations for each level of dining personnel. Interpret the department’s policies and procedures to employees, residents, visitors, government agencies, etc., as necessary. Assist the dining staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc. Assume the responsibility of obtaining/maintaining material safety data sheets (SDSs) for hazardous chemicals used or stored in the dining department. Certified Dietary Manager preferred. Food Handlers Certification or Serve Safe Certification required. 2 years(s) of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility is preferred. Must have training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc
