Description

The Houston SPCA seeks a dynamic and results-oriented fundraising and marketing professional to serve as Director of Direct Marketing. This position leads all direct response fundraising—including mail, digital, social media, telemarketing, and canvassing—designed to acquire, engage, and retain donors at scale. The Director manages vendor relationships, oversees campaign execution, ensures donor data accuracy, and delivers strong revenue growth to support the lifesaving mission of the Houston SPCA.

Responsibilities
  • Lead planning and execution of multi-channel direct response campaigns (mail, email, digital, social, telemarketing, and canvassing).
  • Develop strategies to grow donor acquisition, retention, and upgrades, including monthly and mid-level giving.
  • Manage agency and vendor partnerships to ensure campaigns are on time, on budget, and delivering strong ROI.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, Development, and Finance to align campaigns with organizational priorities.
  • Oversee annual fund planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Provide regular analysis of campaign performance, donor trends, and revenue projections for leadership and Board review.
  • Ensure accurate donor data, coding, and reconciliation with Finance; maintain strong internal controls and compliance with data privacy standards.
  • Oversee functionality and fundraising effectiveness of Houston SPCA websites in collaboration with IT and vendors.
  • Supervise staff, supporting performance, growth, and timely completion of projects.
  • Contribute to organizational fundraising events and other initiatives as needed.
