Albertsons-Safeway's Northern California Division has an opening for a Director of eCommerce Operations. The Director of eCommerce Operations oversees key performance metrics for the Northern California Division’s online ordering systems. Leading a regional team of Operations Managers, this role ensures stores deliver groceries efficiently while championing a seamless customer experience. By leveraging technology, industry trends, and customer feedback, the Director drives performance and partners across corporate, store, finance, and divisional teams to meet sales, service, and financial goals. This leader also supports growth initiatives, optimizes operations and labor, and prioritizes eCommerce activities to achieve business objectives. Responsibilities Own and drive achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) across Drive Up & Go and Third-Party Logistics models within the Division. Execute brand strategies to sustainably grow market share across both B2B and B2C channels, while continuously improving operating margins. Deliver results across the customer journey, ensuring KPI targets are met at each stage. Proactively identify friction points and implement solutions to enhance the customer experience. Cultivate strong relationships and influence key division leaders—including Division Presidents, SVPs/VPs of Operations, Marketing, and Merchandising, as well as Store Directors and Home Shopping Department Managers—to optimize performance, close operational gaps, and elevate customer satisfaction. Collaborate cross-functionally with E-commerce peers, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, Product, IT, and Strategic Initiatives teams to support and execute strategic plans focused on growth and customer loyalty. Provide leadership and direction to direct reports, the broader Field Operations team and third-party partners to achieve results. Develop and retain high-performing teams, empowering Operations Managers and Home Shopping Department Leads through coaching, skill development, and career growth opportunities to build bench strength and elevate performance. Analyze trends in customer service calls and IT systems and implement improvements to address common issues; collaborate with customer service, fraud, dispatch, fleet, talent acquisition and IT to ensure a best-in-class customer experience. Salary range is $114,100 to $160,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Knowledge & Experience A bachelor’s degree in business or marketing from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience. MBA a plus. Minimum of eight years’ experience within grocery retail environment with at least five of those years in a senior level operations leadership position. District manager or retail operations experience preferred. Solid track record of building and leading teams. Proven expertise to influence people, processes and technology in a manner that enriches the Company’s culture and overall team performance. Ability to interpret KPIs, income statements, balance sheets and financial reports and develop action plans to improve financial and operational metrics Skills & Knowledge Operational excellence mindset, numbers and solutions driven, tech savvy. Travel Requirements: Up to 50% travel may be required to support business operations Physical Environment Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office or retail store environment. Store visits involve regular standing, walking, climbing stairs, and movement around machinery and hazardous equipment, as well as backstage receiving and production areas. Incumbent may sit for long periods at a desk or computer terminal. Use of calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment is required during the normal workday. Stopping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required to complete job duties.
