Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Director of Education (DoE) for Anderson College’s campus in Brampton, Ontario. The DoE will manage faculty staff and be responsible for maintaining a positive student experience, as well as compliance with the Private Career College Act and other MCU requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing faculty staff from the hiring process through supervision, evaluation and development
  • Developing departmental goals and measurements to ensure efficient and effective departmental performance
  • Ensuring that all staff meet corporate standards with respect to curriculum, program delivery, and Ministry procedures
  • Co-ordinating the development of programs of study, course descriptions, class schedules and syllabi, selection and timely acquisition of academic equipment, supplies and textbooks, ensuring there are adequate faculty and facilities to accommodate students’ needs
  • Assisting in all accreditation processes and applications, including coordination of accreditation visits
  • Contributing to the strategic planning process, recommending short and long-term training plans/objectives
  • Investigating and making recommendations to the Campus Director on issues related to curriculum, student, and employee relations
  • Providing leadership to Instructors, motivating staff to participate in company’s objectives and continuously inform and train staff of changes or new directions
  • Establishing regular staff meetings to ensure communication, feedback, and maintenance of productive work processes
  • Managing student attendance and progress as per regulatory and legal requirements
  • Achieving and maintaining budgeted retention rates and balancing attrition rates
  • Addressing student issues/complaints according to complaint procedures
  • Ensuring student files are accurately maintained as per regulatory and legal requirements
  • Participating in new student orientation, student appreciation events and exit interviews.
  • Assisting with evaluations of student grades and attendance
  • Co-ordinating the development of programs of study, course descriptions, class schedules, syllabus for each class, selection and timely acquisition of textbooks and related academic equipment and supplies and ensuring there are adequate faculty and facilities to accommodate the needs of the students
  • Scheduling faculty in accordance with experience and accreditation standards
  • Assisting in all accreditation processes and applications, including coordination of accreditation visits
  • Encouraging business growth through liaisons with external agencies such as government, corporate and community organizations
  • Contributing to the strategic planning process, recommending short and long-term training plans/objectives
  • Investigating and making recommendations to the Campus Director on issues related to curriculum, student and employee relations
