QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The Director of Environmental Health and Safety must hold a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, logistics, or related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in EHS and Quality from food packaging industry.
  • Must have at least 3+ years of executive leadership experience in a director level.
  • Must have Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • A PMP certification is highly desired
  • The Director of Environmental Health and Safety must have strong background in manufacturing operations, including production, quality, safety and logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, GMP, SQF, and EHS compliance standards.
  • The Director of Environmental Health and Safety must have experience developing company-wide safety protocols and SOPs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and statistical/data analysis software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Must be willing to travel 50%+ to support multiple facilities.
Responsibilities
  • The Director of Environmental Health and Safety will lead company-wide Safety, Quality, and Compliance initiatives across all facilities.
  • Oversee the Quality Management System and ensure adherence to OSHA, GMP, SQF, and SOP standards.
  • Develop and enforce safety programs to maintain an injury-free work environment.
  • The Director of Environmental Health and Safety will drive resolution of customer complaints, vendor issues, and quality/safety incidents through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Analyze safety and quality data to identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality through training, communication, and leadership.
  • Align compliance with strategic business objectives in partnership with plant and corporate leadership.
  • The Director of Environmental Health and Safety will conduct inspections, lead safety meetings, and deliver ongoing training.
  • Manage incident investigations, documentation, and regulatory reporting.
  • Support new hire safety orientation and recommend safety equipment and systems.
  • Identify cost-saving and product improvement opportunities without compromising compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of evolving safety and environmental regulations.
