Description
An industry leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Director of Electrical Engineering (Power) for their Cleveland, Ohio team! Responsibilities: Lead the Facilities Power team (medium and high voltage substation, transmission line, etc.) Responsible for the growth and development of substation design/construction projects through the Midwest: o Regional growth o Forecast o Strategic initiatives o Performance oversight o Business development strategy Build/maintain relationships with top Power related clients in the Region Collaborate with other company team leaders to grow and sustain an integrated practice Maintain highest level of quality project performance, client management, and community involvement to ensure company reputation Responsible for key performance indicators for Power related projects in the region including project performance Attract/recruit new hires Mentor/train junior staff to build a quality team to maximize productivity Produce quality Power-related proposals and technical work Oversee the application of client standards and applicable design codes/specifications related to design requirements Job Requirements/Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering Required 12+ Years of experience in Power-related design services within Consulting Engineering PE License Preferred Working knowledge of design and analysis software (AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, Easypower, Microstation, WinGIS, CYME, and CGEGS) Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA, NESC, IEEE, IEC Experience with electrical system studies such as short circuit, over-current device coordination, and Arc Flash Hazard analysis per NPFA 70E Experience in the design of substation physical structures, wiring and controls Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues Perform substation engineering calculations including ground grid design, rigid bus analysis, and auxiliary system sizing (AC/DC load, batteries, chargers) in SKM or similar software Design/size conduit and high/medium voltage conductor Select/specify transformers, switchgear, and protective devices Experience supporting IOUs such as FE, PPL, Dominion, Duke Energy, CPP, or AEP Proficient in marking up drawings digitally and understanding of CAD application Strong understanding of substation equipment and configurations such as AIS, transformer banks, ring bus, breaker-and-a-half, etc. Salary is commensurate with experience.
