Cardo Systems is seeking an experienced Director of Embedded Software Engineering to lead multiple embedded software teams and drive the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary products. Reporting to the VP R&D, this role combines people leadership, technical oversight, and end-to-end execution, working closely with hardware, RF, audio, and mobile teams. Full-time position in a hybrid model (from the company’s offices at Ra'anana/from home). Responsibilities Team & Leadership Lead and grow multiple embedded software teams (15–25 engineers, including team leads) Build a strong engineering culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement Mentor engineers and team leads Delivery & Execution Own delivery of embedded software across multiple products and releases Drive planning, estimation, and execution to ensure predictable timelines Identify risks early and manage cross-team dependencies Architecture & Technical Oversight Provide technical direction and ensure scalable system architecture Oversee design across embedded domains (RTOS, connectivity, audio, power) Ensure tight integration with hardware, RF (Bluetooth), audio, and mobile Processes & Quality Define and improve development processes (planning, CI/CD, release, DoD) Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, and validation Cross-Functional Leadership Work closely with Product, Hardware, RF, Audio, Mobile, and Operations Provide clear visibility of progress, risks, and trade-offs Requirements Qualifications BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field 10+ years in embedded software development 5+ years managing teams (multi-team experience preferred) Technical Strong embedded experience (C/C++, RTOS, low-power systems) Experience with wireless technologies (Bluetooth Classic / BLE) Experience working closely with hardware Leadership & Execution Proven ability to deliver complex products end-to-end Strong planning, estimation, and risk management Soft Skills Strong communication and stakeholder management Ability to operate in a matrix organization Hands-on, pragmatic, and results-oriented Nice to Have Experience with audio systems / DSP Experience delivering products to mass production (DVT/PVT) Experience in consumer electronics / high-volume products Experience with AI-assisted development tools We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
