Schedule: this is a salaried exempt role that will mainly work M-F.

A Director of Emergency Services who excels in this role:

  • Assess a variety of complex situations and determines the most effective means to resolve situations.
  • Uses leadership skills in decision making, problem solving, and interpersonal relations when working with department directors, physicians, staff, visitors, and vendors.
  • Sets the climate for cooperation between co-workers and shifts for a smooth-running operation. Requires judgment/action that could impact the patient’s outcome.
  • This is a working-director position. Must be able to jump in as a nurse and take care of patients as required by business needs.
  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols
