OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Engagement facilitates inter-departmental child and youth and family-centered service response. The Director of Engagement creates and implementing strategies that engage children, youth and families in building upon their strengths, skills and confidence to fulfil our responsibilities in the community. This position will require scheduled travel to First Nations communities. This position will work Monday to Friday in office. The incumbent must be able to work on site, sit for extended periods, and be able to travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Master’s of Social Work (MSW) and/or relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory and management experience.
  • Experience developing and evaluating social service programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to apply a strengths-based approach to working with people with diverse life experiences.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of First Nations perspectives, culture, and philosophies.
  • Experience in report writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and create work plans.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, word processing (MS Word), Spreadsheets (Excel), E-mail (Outlook) and Internet, including ability to type.
