Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Director of Engineering will lead our software engineering team, providing both strategic and hands-on leadership across architecture, product development, team operations, and platform evolution. This role will require technical expertise with modern web technologies, as well as the ability to scale high-quality software systems and cultivate engineering excellence.
You will be responsible for aligning engineering execution with product strategy, mentoring senior technical staff, and ensuring our systems are robust, scalable, and ready to support Capture’s expanding AI-powered solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Leadership

  • Oversee design, development, and deployment of the marketing automation platform and AI-powered applications.
  • Lead full-stack development efforts using PHP, Laravel, Python, Vue.js, and MySQL
  • Ensure best practices in code quality, testing, deployment, and documentation
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps

Strategic Execution

  • Partner with Product, Data Science, and Operations to prioritize and deliver against strategic goals
  • Translate business requirements into scalable and reliable technical solutions
  • Drive innovation through continuous research and improvement, including evaluation of AI/ML integration opportunities

Team Leadership

  • Build, lead, and mentor a distributed team of engineers
  • Create an inclusive, feedback-driven engineering culture focused on high performance and learning
  • Define career development paths and performance standards for engineers

Quality & Operations

  • Champion software reliability, observability, and operational excellence
  • Ensure all projects meet security, compliance, and documentation standards
  • Guide DevOps and CI/CD practices to ensure rapid, reliable releases
