Description
Lead Enlight's engineering function and engineering teams throughout the full project lifecycle—from development and design, through procurement and construction, to project handover and operational support. The role is responsible for ensuring consistent engineering standards, technical and economic optimization, engineering risk management, and the leadership of project engineering teams. Reporting to VP Engineering Responsibilities Engineering Management Overall responsibility for the engineering aspects of Solar, Wind, and BESS projects. Define engineering policies, standards, and methodologies. Develop work plans, objectives, and KPIs for engineering teams. Manage workloads and prioritize tasks across countries and projects. Engineering Team Leadership Provide professional and people management for project engineering teams. Develop employee onboarding and mentoring programs. Establish professional development and career progression paths. Conduct periodic performance evaluations. Business Development & Project Development Support Lead Technical Due Diligence activities. Assess engineering risks for new projects. Support M&A activities and project acquisitions. Lead Yield, LCOE, CAPEX, and Technology Assessment evaluations. Design Leadership & Optimization Approve engineering concepts and system architectures. Drive optimization initiatives to reduce CAPEX and increase project yield. Lead Value Engineering processes. Approve Design Freeze milestones across projects. Procurement & Contracting Support Provide technical support during RFP processes. Lead technical evaluations of OEMs, EPC contractors, and suppliers. Participate in technical-commercial negotiations. Approve technical specifications and engineering-related contract requirements. Knowledge Management & Innovation Monitor emerging technologies in PV, BESS, and Wind sectors. Develop and maintain the company's technology roadmap. Establish and manage Lessons Learned processes across projects. Implement global engineering best practices. Management of External Consultants Owner's Engineers Independent Engineers Grid Consultants Environmental Consultants Technical Advisors Authority Approve engineering designs and technical solutions. Approve technology and supplier selections from an engineering perspective. Approve external engineering consultants. Approve technical assumptions used in financial models. Recommend Go / No-Go decisions for new projects based on engineering assessments. Requirements 10+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector. 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams. Significant experience with utility-scale solar projects. Proven experience with BESS projects – Mandatory. Wind energy experience – Strong advantage. Experience with EPC, OEM, and Project Finance processes. Experience working on projects in Europe.
