POSITION SUMMARY:

Our Design department has the following main responsibilities:
1) Drafting: Team members take architectural floor plans provided by our customers and then add our furniture the CAD drawings based on the lab design done by the sales team.
2) Estimating: Based on the above, team members estimate the cost of the project for quoting purposes. In some cases, vendor pricing needs to be gathered and in other cases product engineering needs to be consulted to estimate custom designed and manufactured products.
3) Sheet metal product engineering: Where applicable, custom products are designed, or existing product designs are modified to meet customer expectations.
4) Product data management: Responsible for software and systems to manage and organize product-related data and information throughout its lifecycle. This includes managing product design and engineering data, documentation, product certification (ETL/UL/NSF) and other relevant information in a centralized and structured manner for the use downstream in ERP.
5) Project take off and requisitioning: Once a project is approved, create requisitions to source the materials needed from select vendors.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced individual to join us on our growth journey. The ideal candidate will have a background in architectural design or Sheetmetal engineering with the ability to work on both sides of the spectrum.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Architectural Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
· Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-site teams.
· Proven expertise in product engineering, new product development, and drafting process management.
· Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, building layouts, and integration of products into built environments.
· Hands-on experience with sheet metal product design and manufacturing processes.
· Excellent workflow and project management skills; proficiency with CAD, drafting, and project management software.
· Outstanding communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
